The Kyocera Marbl K127 has received a good response from the editors of the cell review site but the general users are not quite fond of the phone. Still the phone is a good one for basic use and is quite decent for making calls the basic purpose of any phone. This is a flip phone which lacks an external display. The phone is not too big and it easily fits into the pocket and hence easy to carry. The phone has a nice design and is attractive; it has a logo of the virgin mobile inscribed in its body. The display of the set is 1.5 inch. The text size is small and cannot be adjusted, while the contrast and backlight time can be adjusted. The keypad has large buttons which are a bit big for the phone’s size. And the backlight of the keypad is a bit too bright.

The phone’s contact book can store limited contacts of at the most 200 contacts. Each contact entry can hold up to six other phone numbers, two web, two email, and two street addresses. It can also support notes against each entry. There are only 4 polyphonic ring tones. Caller groups can be formed and a ring tone can be assigned to each of them. Photo can be paired with each group for caller ID purpose but this is to be done without the help of camera or multimedia messaging options, so it is a bit useless. The phone also offers two games, Race 21 and Brick Attack. The phone also comes with a WAP 2.0 web browser which helps in downloading and browsing the net. Other regular features of the phone are alarm clock, tip calculator, speakerphone, stopwatch, a voice memo recorder, scheduler, text messaging and a countdown timer.

The call quality and volume is pretty good and the battery supports 3.8 hours talk time.

The phonebook and ring tone selection is too small.

The Kyocera Oystr

The phone has been rated as good by the editors of cell review site and the general verdict of the people or the users is average. The phone is pretty attractive with its pearly white exterior. The phone has smooth corners and is quite compact which easily fits into the pocket. It has a short antenna at the top which looks quite good. This flip top phone does not have an external display and to make the screen visible and to know the identity of the caller one has to open the flap which is the upper part of the phone. The screen of the phone is 1.75 inches diagonally. The font size and the brightness of the display of the screen cannot be changed and adjusted but on the other hand the contrast and the backlight timer can be adjusted. The phone comes with games like Brick Attack and Race 21 and more can be downloaded with the help of Virgin XL.

The other important features of the phone are text messaging, wireless web, automatic redial, tip calculator, stopwatch, calculator, voice dialing, scheduler, voice recording, timer and also a speakerphone. Through the Virgin XL one can personalize one’s cell and get as many screensavers, wallpapers, ring tones and many greetings courtesy media outlet. The set has a phone book which can store up to six numbers against each contact entry, it can also store two email, two web and two street addresses and notes. The phone has only four polyphonic ring tones. Each entry can be assigned with a photo and one of the ring tones, but the pictures are the graphics which are already inbuilt in the phone’s memory as there is no camera or multimedia messaging.

The phone supports 3.6 hours of talk time. It comes with a web browser and is quite well designed with easy to use buttons.

The phone lacks an external screen and the display is quite lackluster.

The Kyocera Wild Card M1000 (Virgin Mobile)

The phone has a look of a box. The phone has been rated as very good by the editors of the cell review site and it has received 7.0 out of 10. The screen of the phone is 1.5 inches. The brightness of the screen can be adjusted as well as the screen savers can be set at the back of the display. The keypad is located just below the display. The keypad buttons are quite large and slippery and the navigation toggle is internal. The Wild Card offers a 1.3 mega pixel camera which takes pictures in four resolutions. There is a facility of zooming and a flash is also present. There are other features like self timer, night mode, three color tones, adjusting brightness, 10 shutter sounds, 8 fun frames, and multishot mode. The quality of the picture is pretty good but sometimes the colors are slightly faded. The memory of the phone has space for six phone numbers against each entry in the contact phone book. It also supports two email, web and street addresses and has space for notes. There are only 9 polyphonic ring tones. Caller groups can be created and photo and ring tones can be assigned against each group for caller ID purpose. Separate personal and business ring tones can be set. There is a Bluetooth and voice dialing feature included. The other features of the phone are the text and multimedia messaging as well as instant messaging and emails. Calculator, alarm clock, tip calculator, event scheduler, stopwatch, timer, voice memo are some of the important features. Speakerphone is also available with the phone. The phone is equipped with 2 games Pc-Man and Ms. Pc-Man.

The battery life of the phone supports 3.25 hours of talk time. The phone is user friendly and messaging features are well set. The alphabetic keyboard is designed in a nice manner.

The speakerphone is not good. The navigation controls are poorly designed.
