Digital camera backs
Digital cameras have become popular world wide today and the analog cameras are almost on the verge of extinction now. Digital cameras make use of digital technology which provides better quality enhanced graphics and images. Camera backs were usually associated with film cameras which required these supports for their functioning. In case of digital cameras, it is necessary to mention that most of these devices are quite self-sufficient and therefore digital camera backs are not absolutely essential for its functioning. However, it is seen nowadays that a lot of consumers have taken to using these camera backs which are equipments required in digital photography at the higher ends where the lenses are interchangeable and a huge proportion of professional photographers use these digital camera backs in various kinds of digital cameras like the digital view cameras or the DSLR or digital single lens reflex cameras.
The first of the digital camera backs were created in the year 1991 and it projected a resolution capacity of around 4 million pixels and it was known as the Leaf DCBI. However, since 2002 a wider variety of digital camera backs having enhanced sensors and offering higher resolution has been introduced. It is to be pointed out here that a major part of the usage of digital camera backs had been initially confined mostly to studios in order take photographs of static images. After the image has been captured the camera was fixed to the computer for obtaining the final output. However, with the progress of time and development of technical tools, it has been observed that the digital camera backs have enhanced shutter speeds and the use of highly advanced quality efficient memory cards and have encouraged their usage outside the studio in outdoor activities as well. Digital camera backs having CCD arrays like archetypal cameras are called single shot backs while those having a separate color filter fro scanning are called multi-shot backs.
