The Sum of All Fears review

The Sum of All Fears

Rated PG-13
Runtime: 2hr 4min
Starring: Ben Affleck, Morgan Freeman, Bridget Moynahan, Liev Schreiber, Alan Bates
Personal Rating Rating: 4/5

A neo-Nazi organization, which put their hands on a nuclear bomb dating back to the Yom Kippur War, began to use it to start a war between the United States and Russia, weakened by the recent death of its chairman. The young Jack Ryan (Ben Affleck), a specialist in political recently hired by the CIA are going to find themselves at the heart of the storm…

Despite the sum of all its inconsistencies and clichés, in this 2002 thriller directed by Phil Alden Robinson can be seen, particularly through its spectacular staging and distribution very ingenious (Liev Shreiber formidable, spy field). Huge success at the American box office, The Sum of All Fears, free adaptation of a political thriller fiction by John Clancy published in 1991, reveals an agent Jack Ryan and starting younger than in The Hunt for Red October where it is embodied by Alec Baldwin and games of war or immediate danger with Harrison Ford. If the side falot and “first class” Ben Affleck can grate, however, the actor manages to breathe fresh unexpected deal with veterans Morgan Freeman, Alan Bates and James Cromwell. The director Phil Alden Robinson (he has until the end of a dream, CSI and, more recently, a few episodes of the TV series Band Of Brothers) signed here a film efficient but without much originality.

Little Children

Little Children is a so very realistic movie which can express very well the feeling of the lonely wives or husbands. The lonely wives, Kate Winslet, who seems to have good husband who has good job and have a good big house for her to stay and a lovely kid, but she’s still unhappy with her life. No one will understand but the lonely wives will.

She end up with having secret affair with a prom king man who is also a lonely husband who has failed so many time in the test to be the lawyer. Since the two lonely girl and guy met each other, anything can happen. They don’t know if they are cheating their own husband and wife or not but it’s the hunger like the character of Kate Winslet said “it’s the hunger for alternative and refuse to accept the life of unhappiness”. I totally agree with her.

Review of Movie 1408

1408

Nationality: American

Year: 2007

Playtime: 1 hour 44 minutes

Cast: John Cusack, Paul Birchard, Margot Leicester, Walter Lewis, Eric Meyers, David Nicholson, Alexandra Silber, Johann Urb

The Movie: Based on Stephen Kings novel. Mike Enslin writes about travel guides about haunted hotels. He hears about room 1408 on a hotel in New York which is a haunted room. He visits the hotel and checks inn on room 1408.

Judge: John Cusack is a good actor and he shows us this in 1408. The movie starts out nice but don’t continue so well. When he checks in on the room the cheap effects start. The windows hit Enslin (John Cusack) which us the main person in the story over his hand, the light goes on and off and so on. The seems to be dragging this movie from a short movie until a almost 2 hour movie, something I find very irritating. The ending is also very unoriginal and boring. This movie goes like Hotel California by The Eagles. «You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave». With other words, learn to end the movie before we all leaves the cinema before it’s done!

American Gangster the movie

American Gangster

Nationality: American

Year: 2007

Playtime: 2 hour 33 minutes

Cast: Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lymari Nadal, Ted Levine, Roger Guenveur Smith, John Hawkes, RZA, Yul Vazquez, Malcolm Goodwin, Ruby Dee, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Carla Gugino

The movie: Frank Lucas was the afro American was in 1970 the boss over most drug smuggling in central parts of New York. It took him long time to be wanted by the police, probably because he was so smart and always kept a low profile. He had taken over most of the drug sales from the Italians who now were pissed off. The police was also corrupt and gave most people a hard time.

You could also find honest people. Richie Roberts was one of them. The story is about Frank Lucas huge success and how the honest cops like Richie Robert heroic work to find out what was wrong and right.

Judge: This movie got everything Classic drama, a thrilling story, brutality and love.

The actors performance is impressive and they play the role simply perfect. The music and the harmony makes of this movie makes me want to give it 10/10

Beowulf with Angelina Jolie stunning body in 3D

Beowulf

Nationality: American
Year: 2007
Playtime: 1 hour 54 minutes
Cast: Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Angelina Jolie, Crispin Glover, Brendan Gleeson, Robin Wright Penn, John Malkovich

The Movie: “Beowulf” is supposed to be the oldest English written myth. The myth is about the Danish soldiers being tortured by a terrifying demon and the demons mother. But then the Viking hero Beowulf arrives and the hunter becomes the hunted.

Judge: Beowulf exists in a normal and a 3D-version. This review is made from the 3D version. The movie gets very intense this way when they fight the demon and when Angelina is on the screen only dressed on gold paint. This is supposed to be Denmark, but the mountains look like they are taken from Norway. The roles are played by real actors which later has been computer animated. The animation is good and dynamic but very stiff, they actually reminds me of the mouth to mouth dolls they use for medical training in the army. The best parts of the movie are the battles and watching Angelina Jolie’s body in full 3D

30 Days of Night review

30 Days of Night

Nationality: American

Year: 2007

Playtime: 1 hour 53 minutes

Cast: Ben Foster, Josh Hartnett

The movie: We find ourselves in a old town north of Alaska. It is winter and the sun fades away for 30 days. Suddently the city’s power supply gets broken and in the next moment vampires starts to arrive. Someone has also stolen and burned almost all the cell phones in the city.

Easy to like: There has been maid tons of vampire movies. Greve Dracula alone has played the main part in 70 of them. It is easy to understand why. Death, spirits and ghost never goes off fashion, and vampires are often the smartest race.

Blood: The background story of the vampires is completely gone, and so has the mystic part of the vampires. The movie was quite entertaining, but the vampires act more like mindless zombies coming from no where. They did not save on the blood in this movie and it never gets more then a little bit scary.

Ang Lee’s new movie, Lust Caution

I saw this movie a week ago, Lust Caution, I have to say I love it. The great performance of the role plays, sorry I really don’t know their names because it’s Chinese language, forgive me. But I’ve heard that the important role which is an actress, she is new and this movie as her first movie (correct me if I’m wrong). Her performance is so amazing with the first role, I predict that her future on movie will go so well.

What’s more, the work of the director, Ang Lee, is amazing still. The story is about a group of the 6 patriot college students who plan to kill the man who sell the secret of his own country to the enemy like Japanese. One of the 6 college students which is a main role was being his mistress in order to get the secret as much as she can have for the government and lead the way for her friends to come and kill the man easier.

But the thing is not that easy, since that she has to be his mistress and being together most of the time. They fall in love to each others, he even buy her an expensive to express his love to her. Then the day to kill the man has arrived and the girl changed her mind by deciding to help him, telling him that there are a group of people waiting to kill him outside the diamond shop until he can escape away from the murder.

But that can’t help her, as soon as he find out that she is one of 6 college students who have been planning to kill him for years, he send them to the mine including her and kill all of them.

I think that is the only exciting scene they have in that movie but the movie doesn’t seem boring for me at all which has to give this good-working to the director, Ang Lee.

From all of his movies I’ve seen, I have to say he is the proud of Asia. Big hands for Ang Lee.
