Future of the internet and how to stop it

Buy and Sell text links

Will the internet survive? That is the questions this book is asking. Future of the internet and how to stop it is sometimes do deep for normal internet users to follow. They are more interested in a cute iPhone or a fast typing Blackberry. But will they stand up to keep the internet free?

In France the government already wants to block some people from using the internet and Apple must approve every application that is allowed on the iPhone. Imagine if Intel or HP would say the same thing? In China they want to have a built in internet filter on every computer to block out porn or websites they find offensive.

Your internet as you know it as at risk and in the book you can read how you can help how to stop it.

Change permalinks in wordpress

Buy and Sell text links

As you can see we changed the “permalinks” in our blog. That means that we instead of using date/postname we just postname now as a link. All the old links will be found in the same place as before but starting from today all new once will have shorter URL.

If you wanted to try this with your WordPress blog you can use this plugin we really recommend it.

Just install the permalinks plugin and change the permalinks in your WordPress and you are set to go. No need to change anything else and even the plugin is a bit old it still work perfect.

How to speed WordPress

I have a standard set of plugin to WordPress but since I am using a shared host I want to speed my WordPress blog up a notch. I started deleted some of the plug in that I have no idea what they do and that do not have been updated for a long time. It changed the speed down a few seconds right away.

Then I went to check on Google for other ways to speed up the blog and I found an old blog post on how to speed up WordPress. They suggested me the WP Cache 2 plugin for WordPress but it looks very outdated. http://mnm.uib.es/gallir/wp-cache-2/
I wonder why Google kicks up old posts in this constantly updated subject.

The second choice from Google was better it was 17 good ways to speed up your WordPress blog. But I think some of them are is for dedicated server and some are to advance for me.

I used some of the advice on the last page and then I went to WordPress plugin page and download the Hyper Cash plugin for WordPress. Now my blog is much faster just be deleting some old plug in and installing a new one.

Best 5 ways to read Twitter tweets

TopTweet

They take all the best tweeters from the some famous people using Twitter. You do not have to look around for the best tweets anymore TopTweets will do that for you.

Twitter 100

Pick 100 people and let the Twitter 100 pick the latest tweets from them on a single page. If you have problems what tweets to follow this page is for you.

Twittererator

This page is like a cheap version of the program Hummingbird but it is free. Put in people you like to follow and your Twitter user name and password. When you done you have new friends a good feeling about your self, I promise.

Twitter Digest

This page I really like, it is fast and easy to use. You can just enter the Twitter you want to follow and the page will show the tweets all free.

Twitter http://www.twitter.com

If you do not have that many friends and just follow and few then the best way to communicate with your friends and followers is actually on the home page of Twitter itself. Nothing beats the real thing, or so they say at least.
