Intel Unveils World’s Thinnest NoteBook

Intel Thinnest Notebook

Codenamed the Intel Mobile Metro Notebook, this prototype laptop is co-designed by Intel and Ziba Design. With a mere 0.7-inch thickness, it is crowned the thinnest laptop ever. Weighing in at just 2.25 pounds and sporting Intel speediest processor, it is not just a looker.

Look likes Intel has set its eyes on the laptop arena! And who said only Apple produces stylish laptops.

This champagne-colored beauty will also come with a magnetically attached colored folder, which has a detachable strap for slinging the Intel like a Gucci.

Cheers to Intel for the first time ;)

Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd Shoots Fine, But Can It Blog?

Z5FD

After six months in the making, the blog-friendly Z5fd that we told you about is finally here. A sweet little number in the tradition of Sony’s Cyber-shot T1, sleek with a sliding front and bright 2.5-inch LCD, it’s not really expensive, either: the 6-megapixel, 3X optical zoom camera costs $219, has plenty of features, and is great in most lighting situations.

I really had not planned to review every little silver camera that I came across, however, this one stands out because it is supposed to have tools that can make a blogger’s life a whole lot easier.

3 camera’s!

Bloggosize It: The most talked about feature is the built in auto-resizing tool that lets you shoot at full resolution and then do a ’save as’ at 640×480, small enough to fit on your beloved blog. While reviewing your photos, you just hit the F button and then select ‘Trimming for Blog’ option, and you have your shot saved in a low-res format.
Id say, the idea is superb, however, there is one problem. The largest images that most blogs would or do run is anywhere between 400-500 pixels across! Seems like FujiFilm had some really fancy blog in their mind while designing and incorporating this feature.
However, for me, I need to shrink things down a bit more then the VGA res.
Also, the camera does not have image optimization, so the resized picture is still over 100kb rather than a nice 25-50kb.

Transmit (to 911): When you are in the ‘Trimming for Blog’ mode you can press the F button again to wirelessly transmit the file via a simple infrared interface. The idea of a low powered transmission tool is great, however, neither do I and nor do most of the bloggers today use the IR interface anymore. If FujiFilm ‘really’ cared for bloggers, they would have included a BlueTooth transfer interface which utilizes the RF waves and is much more efficient, faster, and popular today.

Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd

Globebloggin’: You know you are a true blogger when you have a bag packed by the door, ready to hop on the plane for any destination you might feel the need to goto, to get a competing 100 word post up before your competition does. That’s where the Z5fd’s time-difference feature comes in handy!
You just plug in the time difference between your destination and your home. Then, when you get back, you can switch back to ‘Home’ settings and have all your photos neatly and correctly timestamped (according to your locale).

In Your Face: Fujifilm has boasted about its Intelligent Face Detection software for a while, but I’ve never noticed its auto-crop function before. If you have used the detection button to take your pic, go into “Trimming” then press the detection button again. As you can see in the shots of the very handsome man below, the camera automatically crops and re-centers the image around the face.
Face Detection Trimming
So overall, it’s a nice camera, infact, personally I think, it’s further proof that FujiFilm is no longer as crappy as it used to be! Well, just incase if you are wondering, this little silver camera cannot blog as yet, so don’t get your hopes up too high as of now.

Review: Payperpost.com

Payperpost.com

Get Paid for Blogging. You’ve been writing about Web sites, products, services and companies you love for years and you have yet to benefit from all the sales and traffic you have helped generate. That’s about to change. With PayPerPost advertisers are willing to pay you for your opinion on various topics. Search through a list of opportunities, make a blog posting, get your content approved, and get paid. It’s that simple.

So here’s another review from me about PayPerPost.com which has been the recent buzz all over the internet. Bloggers all over have been earning a decent amount every month over and over again.

PayPerPost.com brings advertisers and bloggers together. Bloggers are paid to blog about the advertisers’ products and services. Advertisers offer a specific amount, and the bloggers can accept or deny the opportunity.
For advertisers, this is probably the best bet since many blogs often have a large readership, and this can mean, huge exposure for the advertiser’s site/product/service.

As for bloggers, it’s just another way of making a side income. Although some professional and popular bloggers earn thousands of dollars monthly. So, the potential of PayPerPost.com should not be under-estimated!

Hotmail To Become Paid? Complete BullShit….

MSN

There’s been a recent buzz about MSN and their plans on converting Hotmail from free to ‘fee’.

I’ve received such email forwards, titled ‘From Andy and John’, the fiction characters created by the person that spread this chain around. These two claim to be directors of MSN, and have enough useless time on their hands to send out forwards to millions of Hotmail users, informing them about the change of their Hotmail services.

Moreover, they mention that forwarding the same message to 18 people (different forwards have different requirements!!!!), will ensure that the account of that specific person stays open.
Interestingly, the justification, and reason for closure of services is as follows,

“The reason for MSN’s closure is because a lot of inconsiderate people are taking up a lot of names (making different accounts just for one person), and we have only 578 names left!!!. If you send this to 18 people, you MSN Buddy icon will turn Blue, and you will be able to use MSN for free.”

What I don’t understand is.. how will a simple forward help them? Will it confirm that we use that account? I doubt, because, simply logging into your account, confirms the fact that you need it, and use it!

Moreover, to further justify the closure, they provide a BBC news link, which is tittled “MSN ‘to charge user fee’”

Whoever started this chain, probably hoped that the title would be enough to scare most of the Hotmail users.

But, reading the whole article, proves the fact, that this is all Bullshit.

“Microsoft stresses that the site’s core facilities including Hotmail will remain free.

Fees will be demanded for extra services that are now under development, such as an advanced filter system to protect email accounts from junk mail.”

Now, why would Microsoft announce that they plan to keep Hotmail free, and 2 of its directors go about telling everyone, that they are closing down?
Further, they say, that fee will be charged for additional services which are under development. So, that effectively means, that the current junk prevention will ALSO REMAIN FREE.

Next time you get an email similar to the one outlined below, just discard it. This is all useless piece of shit.

Comments welcome :)

hi Sorry to break the news, but looks like all of those warnings were real! The
use of msn and mail will cost money from summer 2007. If you send this
message to 18 different people from your list your little msn icon will
become blue and that will make it free for you. If you dont believe me go on
(www.msn.com) and see it yourself. Dont foward this message, copy paste it
so people will actually read it. Hey it is Andy and john the directors of
MSN, sorry for the interruption but msn is closing down. this is because too
many inconsiderate people are taking up all the name (eg making up lots of
different accounts for just one person), we only have 578 names left. If you
would like to close your account, DO NOT SEND THIS MESSAGE ON. If you would
like to keep your account, then SEND THIS MESSAGE TO EVERYONE ON YOUR
CONTACT LIST. This is no joke, we will be shutting down the servers. Send it
on, thanks. WHO EVER DOES NOT SEND THIS MESSEAGE, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE
CLOSED AND YOU WILL COST £10.00 A MONTH TO USE. SEND THIS TO EVERYONE ON
YOUR CONTACT LIST. NOW YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO. PLEASE DO NOT FORWARD THIS or
REPLAY. COPY THE WHOLE EMAIL. GO BACK TO YOUR INBOX AND CLICK ON NEW. AND
PASTE THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION
hey everyone, i dont normally send this sort of stuff out but had a look on
the internet and its actually true . On the 30th of november , we will have
to pay for the use of our MSN and email accounts unless we send this message
to at least 18 contacts on your contact list. It’s no joke if you don’t
believe me then go to the site
(http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/1189119.stm) and see for yourself.
Anyways once you’ve sent this message to at least 18 contacts, your msn dude
will become blue. please copy and paste don’t forward cos people won’t take
notice of it

Ignore These Kinds Of Emails.

Rumor: Google Testing Outbound Calling from Google Talk?

Google Talk

If this found image is to be believed, Google is in the midst of testing a SkypeOut-like service with their own Google Talk. If you’re not familiar, Google Talk is their IM and PC to PC calling app that’s tied into other Google apps like GMail.

Why’s this interesting? Well, seeing as Google is Google, they’d no doubt integrate calling into some of their other popular products as well. How about (since their #1 business is still advertising) making you listen to an ad before you make a free call? Or, if you have to pay, making you pay through Google Checkout in order to get a lower fee? Both interesting, and both possible if Google really is going forward with PC-to-phone calling.

Touchless Cellphone Concept From A Parallel Universe

Taranti

This is the latest scifi-absurd design concept from branko Lukic. The
Tarati is a phone with no keys, you pass your fingers through the keyholes to dial. Lukic describes it best:

Tarati enables the user to connect with others by passing fingers, in order, through key holes. This action of dialing alone is a more magical experience and, hence, more indicative of what’s really happening beyond the visible realm. … Tarati beckons the user to “touch” someone without physically touching a single key. Its design reflects human connectivity in a less material/mechanical, more sensual, way.

Reach out and touch someone, eh? Sounds like a good commercial jingle for a rotary phone company..!!

Dell XPS H2C Keeps Cool with Liquid Ceramic Cooling

Dell XPS H2C

Dell is pulling out all the stops with their latest XPS gaming machine the XPS 720 H2C. the rig ships with Corsair DOMINATOR EPP RAM overclocked to 1066MHz. The Intel CPU’s available in the system will be overclocked to bin+3 as well.

The really cool and different aspect of this machine is the patent pending; two stage liquid H2C ceramic cooling technology. “Hard-core gamers and technology enthusiasts continue to challenge us to push limits, and we relish turning those challenges into reality,” said Glen Robson, general manager, Dell’s worldwide gaming products. “Dell is committed to delivering the best PC gaming experience available, combining leading-edge hardware and accessory innovations with the most extreme games, and the XPS gaming products are designed to do exactly that.”

Phew, with all of that over-clocking, cooling would have been a problem had they not come up with something innovative and unique, probably out-of-the box idea I would say.

Prices for this rig will start at $5999 and will include an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 overclocked to 3.46GHz from the stock 2.66GHz plugged into an NVIDIA nForce 680i mainboard. The aforementioned Dell H2C thermo-electric/liquid cooling system, 2GB of DOMIBATOR DDR2 RAM clocked to 1066MHz, dual 160GB SATA 10,000 RPM HDD, 2x Blu-ray drive, Sound blaster X-FI Xtreme Music sound card 24” Dell UltraSharp 2407FPW display with 10W speakers, Windows Vista or XP Media center, SLI enabled 8800 GTX graphics cards all packed into a 2.4mm-think aluminum case painted piano black and utilizing a 1Kw PSU.

It’s a monster gaming machine. C’mon, $6000(almost!) is a lot of money. I guess only the serious and deep pocketed gamers would be interested enough to go out there and get one of these. Not me, I am happy enough with the current PC I use, so long as it serves the purpose of me being able to blog about freely ;)
Read on…….

Optional upgrades will include the Core 2 Extreme QX6800 overclocked to 3.73GHz, SLI enabled 8800 Ultra graphics cards, PhysX processor, 27” UltraSharp display, and a Dell WL600 5.8 GHz wireless read 5.1 speaker system.

I guess the default options were not enough for some extreme gamers. That’s what Dell has been thinking up of lately. I doubt they would be offering upgrades if they did not consider the hardcore gamers and professionals out there!

Bottom line, I’d love to possess it, but I guess I just need to make those $6000 somehow before I even get to see it LIVE!!!

Blogsvertise, Get Paid To Blog

Yup, this is true, this is legit, and this is BIG!
Blogsvertise.com is yet another paid to blog service. However, even though there are many similar ‘paid to blog’ services flying around, this is one that stands out from the rest.

I’ll start off with a brief introduction about the site.
Basically, Blogsvertise.com brings bloggers and advertisers together. You talk and blog about the advertisers’ products, services, and websites, and in return, they pay you for the publicity you generate for them. :)
No matter how complex this process might seem, it’s just as easy, thanks to Blogvertise.com

Creating an account is absolutely free on Blogsvertise.com, and requires no payment or hidden fees of any sort. In addition, the account creation and activation process is as simple as it can get.

Payments are made via PayPal only, so, this could mean that members from only a limited number of countries can join and take advantage of this excellent money making opportunity.

Apart from this, most blogs are approved, and those that are too ‘new’ or ‘recent’ are put on probation status, not denied.
So, I’d personally say, getting approved here, one way or the other, sooner or later, is pretty easy.

Concluding, I’d say, this is one earning opportunity that should not be missed and is a must checkout.
The earning potential here is great if your blog is a popular one. And if you are the creative kind of person, starting out with a new blog, and then popularizing it should not be difficult!

Toasty: The Cassette Deck Style Toaster

Toasty

Designed by Arthur Wu, Toasty is a creative toaster concept that draws inspiration from the cassette-deck. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on if it will go into production.

Providing the nostalgia of 1980s technology while adopting the sturdy materials and manufacturing practices of the 1950s, Toasty is a mash-up of decades that fits in any modern kitchen

Thought I’d comment a bit about this fantastic piece of technological development.
Well, according to the resource article, this is just a concept and an innovative design as of now. They are not at all sure whether it will go into production, or be just a ‘good idea’ and not ‘commercially profitable’.

However, I would definitely love to have a mini sized toaster in my kitchen, and I am sure that I’ll be purchasing it IF it ever goes into production and is up for sale.

I’d love comments from my readers though :)
